An average movie

To be honest, I wasnโ€™t sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Drew Barrymore, I thought I should give it a try. Frankly she is not really a great actress whatsoever but, like I said before, I always had a weak spot for her and this movie is a pretty good example of her typical work. Indeed, it is actually a pretty generic and really predictable romantic comedy but thanks to Drew Barrymore everlasting charm, I thought it was still pretty entertaining. To be honest, the story was actually quite ridiculous when you think about it but she managed to get the right tone and I was mildly entertained throughout the whole thing. This movie also featured James Franco's acting debut and even though it was a rather small part, it was still pretty neat to see him. It is also interesting to note that this movie was directed by Raja Gosnell, the guy responsible for such abominations like 'Big Momma's House', 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua', 'The Smurfs' movies and the 'Scooby-Doo' movies and this is probably the only watchable movie he has ever directed. To conclude, honestly, it was nothing really exceptional but if you like the genre, it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like Drew Barrymore.
