311 - Soundsystem

I believe Soundsystem and 311 have a sound all its own. It sounds like the fivesome has turned up guitarist Tim Mahoney’s amp, returning to heavy metal and punk roots. I think album is the most rock album that the fivesome has made. Indeed, on Soundsystem, 311 add morsels of dominating hard rock influences to their signature sound soup, which is equal parts reggae, hip-hop, rock, and funk. This album nor this group fit into any genre or subgenre.
