A good movie

I already saw this movie but since it was such a long time ago, I was really eager to check it out again. Well, I really enjoyed the damned thing. Indeed, for this movie, Won Kar-Wai mixed one of his usual doomed love stories with a film noir and this mix was quite spellbinding to behold. The material was actually pretty dark and gloomy but it was not as messed up as 'Do lok tin si' which was much harder to swallow. To be honest, as usual with this director, nothing much really happened through the whole thingย  and most of the duration was about a gay couple arguing all the time so it can be challenging. Still, I really had a weak spot for this couple thanks to some really solid performances from Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung. It was also pretty neat that Kar-Wai would for the first time shot his movie outside of Hong-Kong. Later on, he would also make 'My Blueberry Nights' in the USA with an all-star cast but, unfortunately, it would turn out to be his weakest movie so far. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, to conclude, even though it might not be a masterpiece, I really have a weak spot for this movie and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Wong Kar-Wai's work.
