Review of IT

I saw this mini-series when it first aired on TV, and have seen it many a time since. It's pretty good, for an adaptation of a Stephen King novel, plus, it has Tim Curry, who is just awesome and scary, as Pennywise. A fabulous cast of well-known actors, some good writing, and thankfully, this was done as a mini-series, to do a better job of telling the story. Yes, the book is much, much better, but overall, this is still a decent, and sometimes scary, movie.

I love that a lot of favourite actors are in this, despite how sad it is to watch it and know that John Ritter and Johnathan Brandis, two of my favourite actors in this (aside from Tim Curry) died well before their time. But Seth Green is also in this, as are Tim Reid, Harry Anderson, and Annette O'Toole. And the original story is written by my favourite author, Stephen King. This movie scared me as a 12 year old watching it on TV for the first time, commercials and all...and still gives me a thrill watching it over 20 years later (though I am NOT afraid of clowns because of this movie, as so many seem to be!!).
