Carnival of Souls

Protagonist,a young girl called Mary and his two friends participate in a car race with another car and somehow at the bridge, their driver loses control and the car drops in the river and sinks fast. Only survivor from the accident is Mary. Soon after that Mary gets a job from nearby town as organplayer in a church and goes there to begin a new episode in her life and leaves the shocking experience behind. Then strange things start to happen: many times she sees frightening silent man who looks like undead, all the voices of the world become mute and people tend to act towards her like she was invisible. She becomes haunted by this weird phenomena around her and she goes into the edge of insanity..not knowing what is going on.

Carnival of souls was truly captivating film on it's eeriness and atmosphere. The story was well-written and inspiring and the director had many interesting ideas in filming. Director was like an orchestra leader who toyed with the viewer. The film had its own unique style of mixing horror, thriller and mystery into one woven fabric. Protagonist was superb in her role and there were a very interesting characters in this film. A truly terrific film indeed.
