A good movie

Back in the 90's, Jennifer Jason Leigh was one of the most interesting actress at work but, unfortunately, in 2000's, she mostly got some second parts so it was nice to see her again in the lead. The movie itself was basically your typical quirky indie drama dealing with a dysfunctional family with some rather excentric members but I thought that most of it worked pretty well. First of all, I really enjoyed how the movie was shot and there was some really nice dialogues. Furthermore, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Nicole Kidman both delivered some very good performances and they both managed to create two different messed up siblings who were both sometimes pathetic, sometimes brilliant but always fascinating. However, I wasn't really convinced by Jack Black though. Indeed, his character was interesting as well but I thought Black did again his usual goofball act and it kind of made the character less compelling to watch. Furthermore, I understand that they deliberately left some loose hands but I wish the movie was a little bit longer so I could learn more about those characters. Still, I really enjoyed this flick, thanks to the fascinating characters and the brilliant actors at work and it is definitely worth a look.
