Okay, but there is one very hot scene...

Wooo! Hot monk sex!

Well, there is the one scene with Adso (the young monk played by Christian Slater who claims he lost his virginity in this scene) and a peasant girl... It's actually surprisingly very sexy, probably because it's sort of real. It's awkward, strange and kind of weird. I think that's what's sexy about it: it's very different from the usual coreographed love scenes that hollywood often makes.

Otherwise, the movie is OK. I liked the book a lot better and now I want to re-read it. I think the movie focused more on the "mystery" which was less important in the book... Ah well, more stuff to read. :D
