An average movie

Back in those days, Will Ferrell was one of the most successful comic actors and since this movie was a big success at the box-office, I was quite eager to check it out. Furthermore, it was the second movie directed by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell and since the first one was ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy’ which is considered a classic by now, I had some rather high expectations with this follow-up. Eventually, to enjoy this flick, it all depends where you stand concerning Will Ferrell. Honestly, in my case, it is rather hit or miss. I mean, sometimes, the guy can be really funny but, some other times, he can be really obnoxious. Anyway, even though it was nothing really amazing, I thought this movie was still pretty funny and it did help that there was in the supporting cast such amazing actors like John C. Reilly and Sacha Baron Cohen (both of them are actually way more talented and interesting than Ferrell, in my book). Eventually, the whole thing was most of the time pretty funny but, unfortunately, it tends to lose focus and steam during the mid section. Still, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, it remains an entertaining comedy and it is definitely worth a look, except obviously if you cannot stand Will Ferrell.
