An average movie

To be honest, it seemed to be a rather lame movie, I had some really low expectations and I basically watched the damned thing mostly because I have a weak spot for Alec Baldwin. And, indeed, he was not bad and he delivered a good performance. Concerning  Sarah Michelle Gellar, sure, she was/is pretty but I never really cared for this actress and the fact that her career ont the silver screen never took off gives me the feeling that I was right about her. Anyway, I still have to praise Gellar for trying something different in this movie but I'm afraid she didn't pull it off. Indeed, I never thought she was convincing playing some kind of nerdish intellectual character (Seriously, when you see this girl, how many books do you think she has read during her life? 10 maybe?!?). Furthemore, the plot was rather average and predictable and just plain romantic comedy routine and they were not helped by the rather dreadful dialogues. To conclude, I still believe that deep underneath all that crap, there was actually a decent movie with some interesting characters hiding somewhere but, unfortunately, the end result was rather underwhelming and the whole thing is not really worth a look.
