I have to admit that I didn't expect much from the damned thing but since I have a weak spot for Gregg Araki's work, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, eventually, it felt like a huge missed opportunity. Indeed, there are already so many lame stoner comedies out there and, this time around, they actually to got so many elements right and I think it could have been pretty neat but, unfortunately, the end-result was still pretty weak, I'm afraid. In my opinion, the biggest mistake they made was that they never mentioned why Jane was actually smoking weed in the first place. Well, I'll tell you why. It is because it can be so much fun but you never get to see this in this movie. Indeed, instead of laughing with her, which should have been a much better approach, we were supposed to be laughing at her during some kind of rather mean-spirited bad trip. I mean, I don't say that they should have promoted weed (it could have been interesting though) but it could have been better balanced. Concerning Anna Faris, she did what she could with this material and I think she gave actually a solid performance but I really had a hard time to care about this character who was not only really stoned but also incredibly stupid. To conclude, in spite of its potential, it was still a pretty weak comedy and I don't think it is really worth a look.
