Since this movie was another big box-office success for Disney last year, I thought I might as well check it out. First of all, the whole thing was visualy really impressive. Apparently, it was completely shot in a studio, all the animals were fully generated by computer and only the young actor playing Mowgly was actually the real deal which shows how far we have arrived with the CGI technology and the great things we can achieve if we use this tool properly. Concerning the tale itself, I have to admit it, at first, I had a hard time to really get into it. I mean, it's not that I really knew this story (in fact, it was different enough to the classic animated feature to make it entertaining), it was more the fact that I have never cared for this Disney features with some anthropomorphic animals and, once again, I was first slightly annoyed by all these talking animals. However, this time around, they did manage to give these animals some human attitude and ย behavior, and yet, they were still really realistic. Anyway, the whole thing slowly won me over and I was pretty much sold from the moment Baloo finally showed up on the screen (it did help that Bill Murray was the perfect choice for this character). To conclude, even though it never really blew me away, it was still a decent watch and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย
