A very good movie

I already saw this movie but since it was such a long time ago, I was really eager to check it out again. Well, even after all these years, it is still a really awesome flick. Sure, it might not be Tim Burton's best directing effort but it is definitely his most fun movie, no doubt about it. While rewatching it, for once, I didn’t focus only on Beetlejuice (who’s still such an awesome character) but also on the rest of the movie which is after all probably the sweetest ghost story ever made. Indeed, for once, these ghosts were actually friendly, at least, with Lydia which was a really refreshing approach. Eventually, the biggest masterstroke in this movie was Beetlejuice himself though. Indeed, he is such a great character, not really bad, not really good, just plain weird and, after all these years, he is still one of best characters I have ever seen in a movie. It is still easily hands down the best performance by Michael Keaton and I’m not surprised that it is his favorite movie he made. He also came up with most of the character's look and ad-libbed a lot of his lines which were often so hilarious. Eventually, the only issue I have with this movie was the fact that you don’t get to see Beetlejuice much after all (indeed, he had eventually less than 20 mins of screentime) and I wish we could spend more time with him. Back then, Tim Burton didn't need a famous book or some other famous IP to come up with a new movie, he would just use his own imagination. Indeed, this movie burst so much with unhinged dark creativity and, back then, the guy was one of the most original and interesting directors working in Hollywood but, unfortunately, it has been years since he came up with something so interesting and creative. Anyway, to conclude, I really loved this movie and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Tim Burton’s work.
