Not to be confused with the movie released in 2005 which gave us Brangelina, this movie was actually one of the very few comedies directed by Alfred Hitchcock (to be honest, I can't remember what was his other comedies which shows how little impact they had on me). Well, even though it was nice that the guy tried something else, it certainly didn't come near the level of his great thrillers. I have to admit it, I never been a huge fan of the screwball comedies but the material was just not strong enough. Basically, you spend 90 mins watching a couple having the most bogus argument when they are clearly in love. Still, it doesn't mean that it was really bad, in fact, I was quite watchable, above all thanks to the lovely Carole Lombart who was just so charismatic. In spite of the rather uninspiring story, she really managed to deliver a strong and entertaining performance. Robert Montgomery was also pretty good and, together, they had some nice chemistry. To conclude, in spite of its flaws and even though it was obviously a minor effort for this director, I still think it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in Alfred Hitchcock's work.
