A good movie

For the 2nd time around this year, with my filmclub, we went to see another movie starring Isabelle Huppert who is slowly becoming one of our favorite actresses. Concerning the movie itself, it was basically about a very rational woman who had to face some really emotional events  (the loss of her job, the death of her mother and the separation with her husband). However, even if this process was quite interesting, thanks above all to a really solid performance from Huppert, I never really felt swept away by the whole thing. It probably had to do with the fact that, as a French boy, I more or less grew up in such an environment which might seem incredibly enlightning but, from my own experience, this way of life can also be eventually rather cold and frustrating. It is also a way that you might describe this movie. On one hand, this woman discovers herself again, finding some new challenges and pleasures but, on the other hand, she remains also the same woman, with the very same qualities and shortcomings. With too much rationality, how do you remain passionate? Anyway, to conclude, even though it didn't really blow me away, I thought it was still a decent watch and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you're interested in French movies.
