Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I'm actually one of those people that thought the first one was actually pretty fun despite the flaws and Megan Fox. I never got around to watching this one until now though. It's kind of disappointing that Johnny Knoxville didn't return for this. I do think Stephen Amell is a cool choice for Casey Jones although it's disappointing not seeing the character's traditional hair. Dave Green doesn't have many films under his belt, but he is also known for Earth to Echo which I still plan to watch at some point. The writers from the previous film return again for this. I was really hoping that the hair was going to stay that way and then nope. Okay that Transformers reference was pretty funny and cool. I love that the truck is in this! It kind of seems like they reduced the turtles' heights which is a good thing of course. It's awesome that they included Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang here. Okay I am really digging Stephen Amell as Casey Jones! His comedy is on point here. Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, Gary Anthony Williams, and Sheamus were hilarious. Mikey and Raphael are my favorites of the turtles as usual. Leo doesn't seem to have a lot to do in this one probably because it isn't Johnny Knoxville this time around. I still think Megan Fox is a bit overrated, but she sure does look good in the first two outfits we see. Tyler Perry was kind of lame here. He felt like a dorky, low rent Neil deGrasse Tyson. Honestly I really enjoyed this about as much as the first one. The comedy is nice. The action is great. It seems to tone itself down a little bit seeing as it isn't Michael Bay, but there are definitely moments that he was probably involved in. I have been a fan of the Turtles ever since I was a kid and for me this hasn't brought any disappointment. The worst one I watched was the third of the previous series and the previous remake. If you liked the first one then this one is worth seeing as well.
