Review of Kalifornia

I have been curious about this movie for some time, but I am just now finding a chance to watch it. It's free on Amazon Prime so I figured why not go ahead and finally watch it. I have heard some good things about. Out of the movies from Dominic Sena the only one I have enjoyed so far was Whiteout. I haven't seen Swordfish yet by the way. This is the only writing credit for Stephen Levy. Tim Metcalfe has written the Revenge of the Nerds series, Fright Night Part 2, and Haunting in Connecticut (which was the best of his work). There isn't a whole lot of well known actors here surprisingly. I think this is one of the first movies where Brad Pitt plays a villain. The opening was interesting. Juliette Lewis is so adorable. I find her so oddly attractive. Her character here kind of reminds me of a mix of Natural Born Killers and From Dusk Till Dawn. Michelle Forbes' hair is just so annoying to look at. That waitress is how I feel sometimes, but I would have been happy with that response. What exactly was the thing he was using in the bathroom? I think the reveal for the characters came a bit quickly. Haha he said idget! Wow that was pretty sad. Not cool man at all. That ending was the right fit for this movie. The acting was a bit silly at times, but I thought the characters were all pretty likable. My least favorite though was Michelle Forbes as Carrie. I just didn't care for her through most of the film. I thought the name Early Grayce was pretty cool and original. I wish it was a little more brutal. I mean for a movie with a serial killer it was pretty tame. What we did see was intense though. That being said this is my favorite work of Dominic Sena so far. I think it's worth a watch.
