Review of Fun Size Horror: Volume Two (2015)

So I remember watching the first volume awhile back and it was pretty enjoyable. It looks like some actors return for this one with inclusion of Karen Gillan! Now that's a surprising name to see in a movie like this. She even writes and directs her own segment. There are some returning writers and directors from the first part as well. Some who only wrote return to direct. It looks like this will be pretty short at barely over an hour. Let's see how the segments compare to that of the original for better or worse.

"Initiation" Directed by Michael May and Written by Mali Elfman
I don't know what is really going on yet, but the acting for this segment is good. It's a pretty interesting monologue. Okay that was definitely strange. Not sure what to make of it.
6/10

"Last Laugh" Written/Directed by Zeke Pinheiro
Ah that show kind of seems like I Love Lucy. That was a pretty cool transition. The acting is pretty good here as well. Okay this is getting pretty eerie. That was a very interesting ending. It's so much different than I was expecting.
8/10

"Kill Them Mommy!" Written/Directed by Peter Chun Mao Wu
Okay this one starts off with some good strangeness. Eww what in the world was that? Ah I see. Well this is very different. It's creative and color. I think it ended a little too abruptly though. I think it could have been interesting to see where it could go. Brett Ratner produced this one!
6/10

"Prey" Written/Directed by Stephen Boyer
Ah well it starts off like a typical one of it's kind. I hope they make it fun and different. Oh wow that's a nice and unexpected twist! That was really short, but it was also pretty well done. The acting was a little meh though.
7/10

"Whispers" Written/Directed by Max Isaacson
Okay I was beginning to wonder if anything was going to happen here. The style they chose to film this segment is so unusual. Okay that looked way to realistic. Ah wow I was wondering. Such a strange segment, but it was actually well done.
7.5/10

"The Great Corben" Written/Directed by Mark Alan Miller
So it's a strange adult animation thing. Well that surely escalated quickly. Man people are so sick. I was not expecting any of that.
7.5/10

"Pillow Fright" Written/Directed by Patrick Rea
Yes pillow fight sounds good to me too haha! This is so silly and reminds me of Rubber. I have to say I actually thought this one was pretty fun.
9/10

"And They Watched" Written/Directed by Vivian Lin
I wonder what this one will end up being. Dude no what the hell!? That is some pretty good make up effects. I'm surprised they have never done something like this. Or at least from what I've seen. Okay this segment is absolutely incredible. It's so well acted and the twist is perfect!
10/10

"Playing Dead" Written/Directed by Ned Ehrbar and Co-Written by Stephanie Ko
Lol what in the world? Why would anyone ever agree to do something like this? Okay there has to definitely be more to it. I have no idea what is going on. I hope there will be some kind of explanation. That is some crazy stuff for sure. The ending was something else. It sort of explains it. Definitely a fun and different story.
9/10

"Pinned" Directed by Andrew Wesman and Written by Joe Wicker
This guy is crazy to be driving like that. Why did you have to accept an unknown number though? That's creepy and kind of reminds me of Sinister. Okay that was something really different. I'm not entirely sure what happened. It was pretty intriguing though.
7.5/10

"Perfect" Written/Directed by Taylor Phillips
Okay some people are a bit crazy when it comes to some things. That guy is really comfortable with himself. Not many guys can get attention looking like that. I had a feeling that something was going to happen. The ending was amusing and disturbing. A bit downhill from the recent segments though.
6/10

"Conventional" Written/Directed by Karen Gillan
Now we come to the Karen Gillan film which is honestly the main reason many people might check out this anthology. Also I am curious about her directorial/writing debut. That's a lot of hand sanitizer, but I do that too. The name makes sense now. I was wondering. Good lord those lips! That's pretty creepy. I swear it has to be pretty uncomfortable to deal with these kind of situations. I have to say that would be a dream for many when it comes to fans. I bet this is very real for some pretty much forgotten actors. Maybe not as extreme, but definitely to a certain extent. That ending was excellent! I think she did an all around great job here! Even the others in her segment were great.
10/10

So I thought most of these were pretty good. I don't think anything was just plain awful. There were some average pieces of candy in the bag here, but other than that I was satisfied. In fact this batch is actually better than the first one. I thought the best segment overall was And They Watched with Conventional as a very close second. The worst yet still enjoyable were Perfect, Kill Them Mommy, and Initiation. It was pretty cool in the credits you see a lot of the behind the scenes people and some on-screen people were extras in other segments. If you like anthologies I definitely recommend this one.
