An average movie

I  wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie but since I have a weak spot for Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, unfortunately, I had a rather hard time to care about the damned thing. Indeed, it must be one of the most convoluted action flicks I have seen for a while. Basically, it is about 2 undercover agents, one from the DEA and the other one from the Marines, but the catch is that they both don't know the real background of their partner and they both end up fighting against the DEA, the Marines, a drug cartel and the CIA. And I forgot to mention that, in this story, everyone is corrupt, except the main characters. I mean, seriously? It's too bad because the whole thing actually had some potential. Indeed, even if this story was really ridiculous, Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg were actually pretty good and they both seemed to have some fun with the material.  To make it work, they should have gone for a much more straightforward tale instead of this mess and they could have ended up with a pretty cool action movie. To conclude, pretty much like 'Contraband' also directed by Baltasar Kormákur and starring Mark Wahlberg, the whole thing had some potential but, unfortunately, the end-result was once again rather underwhelming and I don't think it is really worth a look.
