A good movie

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick but, if I recall it correctly, I actually saw the damned thing in the movie theater when it was released. Eventually, I though it was a really solid movie about the war in former Yugoslavia but even though most of it worked really well, it was still missing something to become really remarkable in my opinion. I donโ€™t know, at the end of the day, even though it was a definitely a good solid mix between comedy and drama, the concept was still too gimmicky to really blow me away. I mean, sure, it seemed to be a fairly accurate depiction of war and how absurd it can become but I didnโ€™t think it was really groundbreaking. Concerning Danis Tanovic, even though many had some great expectations for this director, none of his following director efforts managed to reach the same critical success. For example, I saw recently โ€˜Triageโ€™ which had a very sold international cast and definitely some potential but it turned out to be rather half-baked after all. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, even though I think it is slightly overrated, it was still a pretty good comedy-drama and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย
