the anti normal

drop dead fred was awesome when i came out...now its certainly a bit dated. the difference is that it seems to drag a lot more now but doesn't lose entirely.

its a fairy tale of sorts about a girl with an imaginary friend who is there to help her but instead he seemingly is nothing more than an excuse for the girl to wreak havoc. now as a grown woman he's back...helping her...or creating more havoc. but its not as easy now, its seemingly a disaster making her appear...well...maybe she is in fact insane.

and the ending is something special...endearing. how often can you say that about a movie...especially a movie about poop jokes and snot?

there's really nothing else like this movie. the closest thing is perhaps 'little monsters' which actually came before this. i like both truthfully, but something about drop dead fred is simply special.

i don't know if it works with today's viewers or if you had to see it back in the day, but for me...i love it.
