An average movie

Obviously, like anyone else, I heard only bad things about this movie but since I have a weak spot for Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, eventually, it turned out to be indeed pretty lame. Basically, it was some kind of seriously misguided mix between 'Men In Black', 'Ghostbusters', even with a dash of 'Ghost'. So, it felt really derivative and, right from the start, the whole concept was just seriously boring. For Ryan Reynolds, it was yet already his 4th comic-book adaptation which turned out to be either a commercial and/or a critical flop (see also 'Blade: Trinity', 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', and 'Green Lantern') and he even made a 5th movie in this genre but, fortunately for him,ย 'Deadpool' ย was a huge hit (he also said he would never play another comic-book character, except for Deadpool). Concerning Jeff Bridges, is it me or is he playing all his characters with the very same accent nowadays? Anyway, Bridges did manage from time to time to have a nice oneliner but it is pretty much the only positive thing I can tell about this movie. To conclude, even though I have seen worse, I still think I have been generous with my rating here and the whole thing was still pretty much a waste of time.ย
