An average movie

Following the incredibly enjoyable 'Pineapple Express', David Gordon Green must have thought that it would be a good idea to make another big-budget comedy. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a massive commercial and critical flop but I still wanted to check it out. This time, they went for a mix of a stoner comedy with a medieval adventure which sounded pretty neat but the end-result was just seriously disappointing. Indeed,  even though some of the jokes were decent, most of them were just really lame. It's like the modern cursing, it was fun for 5 minutes but it got old very fast, I'm afraid. To make things worse, Thadeous, played by Danny McBride, was just a major douchebag and Fabious,  played by James Franco, was just a major moron and both brothers were rather obnoxious and not really entertaining. Natalie Portman, who looked really lovely, I'll give you that, tried to play it straight but it didn't really work better either. Finally, you also had Zooey  Deschanel who didn’t have much to do except showing some major cleavage. Eventually, you wonder how such a talented director and such a nice cast would end up making such an underwhelming feature. To conclude, even though I have seen worse, the whole thing was pretty pathetic and I don't think it is worth a look.
