Review of The Falling

My only real excuses to watch this are Maisie Williams and the fact that this is on Netflix Instant. The plot though does sound somewhat interesting. This is Carol Morley's fifth movie, but the first one I've heard of. This opening song is already giving me a creepy vibe and it's not even a disturbing song. You can just tell it's an eerie atmosphere. So is there a bit of romance going on amongst them or are they just those really close kind of friends? I guess they are trying to make sure we know our characters well. Not much has happened besides establishing our main characters, setting, and a few conflicts. It hasn't even covered main conflict yet. It looks like it's beginning. Hmm that's an interesting turn of events. The music is different and interesting. What the hell is going on? Hmm I wonder if it's all just a scam. I mean the acting is good, but whenever someone is going to faint it just gets all corny. Yeah I swear some of them are horrible at fainting. Okay what they are doing now isn't fainting at least in a normal sense of the term. I can't really tell exactly what is going on as honestly it's pretty nonsensical. Oh my that was um disturbing to say the least. Really that's how it ends? What a waste of good talent! This had potential to be good, but nope. There is no explanation whatsoever about what is going on so you are left to make your own decision. I mean there are ideas. It just was executed pretty weakly so it just made it all so lackluster. The story with Lydia's family was the better part of this. It could have been all about that and it would have been way better. Don't waste your time with this one.
