Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from this flick but since I always had a weak spot for Andie McDowell, I thought I might as well check this flick. Indeed, I always thought that Andie McDowell is a charming actress and it's too bad we don't see her much nowadays. Basically, it is a little harmles flick with a very similar plot to ‘The Holiday’ which would be released a little bit later. Honestly, just like ‘The Holiday’, I’m not sure I really cared about the concept. Indeed, I have moved quite often in my life and I have even lived in 3 different countries (1 year in England, 20 years in France and 10 years in the Netherlands) and it is difficult for me to swallow that some people would decide to switch their home and ‘something’ drastic might happen from this change. Sure, it sounds like a neat idea and, at least, this time, they handled the characters a little bit more seriously than in ‘The Holiday’, which on the other hand much more star power, but it was still rather predictable and not really amazing whatsoever. Still, in spite of its flaws, it remains a decent romantic feature and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
