An average movie

Before this movie was released, there was a pretty good buzz about it mostly because of the stellar cast involved. Eventually, it didn't get much love after all but I was still eager to check it out. Well, even though it was an interesting concept to mix all these fairy tales together, it didn’t make up for a really satisfying story. On top of that, even though at some point, all these little stories seemed to be neatly  concluded, it still went on for another 30 minutes which were even more underwhelming and rather unnecessary. Finally,  another disappointment was the fact that, even though Johnny Depp was prominently displayed in all the promotional material, he actually showed up just for 2 scenes only. So, all in all, I didn't care much for the whole thing but I have to admit it, it was rather well made and there was indeed a very nice cast ( Meryl Streep,  Emily Blunt,  Anna Kendrick, Chris  Pine, Johnny Depp). As usual, Meryl Streep was the best and she pretty much out-staged anyone else involved. To conclude, in spite of its flaws, it was still a decent musical and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
