A good movie

It was yet another movie that I had on dvd for so long so I thought it really was time to watch the damned thing. To be honest, it is a rather obscure Australian production but since I have a weak spot for Russell Crowe, I thought I might as well check it out. Well,  even though the focus was obviously on homosexuality and we manage to deal or not with it, I was actually more impressed by this father-son relationship.  Indeed, I have never such a great relationship before and, to be honest, it might have been too good to true but it was certainly touching and charming to behold. I also enjoyed the way Crowe played this gay man. Indeed, even though he fancies men, he managed to avoid the usual stereotypes and  the guy hasn't lost any of his masculanity which was really refreshing. Unfortunately, the directing wasn't really strong,  in my opinion. For example, it was obvious that the kitchen was in fact a set and not in an actual house, I had never seen this before and it was rather embarassing. Furthermore,  the last act involving a rather random and tragic event didn’t really add much. Anyway,  even though it wasn’t really great, I thought it was a decent watch and it is definitely worth a look.
