Thoughts before I watched this.
1. It isn't a horror move, but thrillers still count for me.
2. I'm a little skeptical about Rupert Friend playing Agent 47.
3. The action from what I've seen looks pretty badass.
4. Why does Ciaran Hinds have to be in this? I don't like him.
5. It doesn't have too many recognizable faces surprisingly.
6. It's from first time director Aleksander Bach.
7. Skip Woods wrote the original Hitman film as well. He also wrote A-Team (movie), A Good Day to Die Hard, and Sabotage. Unfortunately he is also to blame for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
8. Michael Finch wrote November Man and Predators so hopefully he prevailed again.
9. Anyways I've been holding back on this so I decided to finally give it a shot.
"Focuses on a young woman named Katia van Dees, who teams up with Agent 47 in order to find her father and her true ancestry. They discover that Katia is a genetically engineered assassin just like 47. Together, they fight the Syndicate to find Katia's father."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. So we get a narrative to explain what is happening okay I guess.
2. Oh yes barcode baby!
3. Dude Hitman is always such a badass.
4. I don't know why but hitting those railings looks a lot more painful than being shot haha.
5. That math gave me a headache, but she must be really smart to do that.
6. What is Sylar up to?
7. This girl is definitely intriguing.
8. So wait this makes me wonder who the bad guy is.
9. That is not what I was expecting!
10. That's a bit silly I suppose.
11. Wait as a kid his barcode was in a different spot uh okay then?
12. Indeed better.
13. I was not expecting that twist.
14. Or maybe I'm imagining things and that barcode was there the whole time lol.
15. Was she really just swimming with just bottoms on? That makes no sense.
16. I love how brutal and high octane these fight scenes are.
17. Thank goodness Ciaran Hinds shows up after the hour mark so I don't have to deal with him too much.
18. Oh come on seriously?
19. Ahhh come on shoot him in the head!
20. Oh I didn't expect that to be what happened.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. The action is what makes this such a likable film.
2. If it were solely for the story though this movie would fail miserably.
3. It seems to be about tied with the previous film in how overall watchable it is.
4. It kind of gave me that same idea with Mad Max Fury Road that our title character isn't the main focus of the film.
5. There are some great shots throughout.
6. The characters were all just kind of cardboard.
7. I wish they would have fleshed out a more layered story instead of mostly action.
8. The ending was a bit silly.
9. Is it a great movie? Not really.
10. It's good for a one time watch simply for the action I've mentioned though.
