Even before Kathryn Bygelow made her comeback with the really impressive 'The Hurt Locker', I have always been interested by her work and therefore I was really eager to check this flick which sounded really awesome. Eventually, I thought it was not bad at all but, to be honest, I was expecting a little bit more from this feature. I mean, there was some good stuff, Jamie Lee Curtis did deliver a strong perfomance and it was definitely quite refreshing to see a woman being the lead character in an action movie. On top of that, the directing was obviously pretty good too but unfortunately, I thought that the story was not really original and very predictable. I mean, except from providing a strong female character, this movie didnโt have much else to offer. After this, Bigelow went to direct 'Point Break' which surprisingly turned out to be quite a cult-classic even though I'm not myself a huge fan of this movie. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, to conclude, even though it wasnโt really amazing, it is still a decent thriller and it is definitely worth a look especially if you wonder what Kathryn Bigelow did at the beginning of her career.
