Even though the reception for this movie was rather mixed, since it was a huge success at the box-office, I was really eager to watch it. Eventually, I thought it was not bad at all. Of course, it is not a masterpiece whatsoever but for a popcorn movie, I thought it was really entertaining. Indeed, in my opinion, Will Smith was quite convincing with a very good performance and, at the time, he was one of the few big movie stars who could produce an entertaining blockbuster with still a certain amount of depth. Since then, he has pretty much lost his mojo (showing up in a movie directed my M. Night Shyamalan was definitely not a smart move). Anyway, coming back our main feature, I didn't think that the special effects were as bad as many said. In fact, I thought it was actually visually pretty impressive, especially the beginning. Furthermore, the story kept me on the edge until the end so what else should we ask for? To conclude, of course, it is nothing revolutionary but compared to any blockbuster, it is actually pretty good, I personally enjoyed it and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
