- The Game -
Ultima Underworld II Labyrinth of worlds is a first-person 3D RPG game set in the Ultima universe. UW2 is the sequel to Ultima Underworld The Stygian Abyss and was created by Looking Glass Technologies and published by Electronic Arts in 1993

- The Story -
The storyline takes place between parts one and two of Ultima VII and as usual has you playing that part of the Avatar. One year after the Black Gate incident of Ultima VII, you are invited to a feast by Lord British to celebrate the year of rebuilding in Britannia. In the early morning afterwards, a great dome of blackrock crystal forms over the castle trapping everyone, including you, inside. The blackrock was created by Mayor Patterson for the Guardian who intends to invade Britannia, which has now been cut off from its greatest defender (you). Searching down through the sewers under the castle you find a smaller crystal, a 'reverberation' created by the sheer power of the Guardian's spell. The crystal allows you to travel to other worlds under the Guardian's control in order to free the castle from the spell.

This is a very special run for me, why? Because this is my all-time favorite game! I basically wanted to make a "tribute" to it, and I think this is very appropriate. It may be old but that doesn't mean it isn't fun! I optimized my strategy so that I only visit every world the absolute minimum number of times possible. Final time is 52 minutes 41.2 seconds. This is about my eighteenth recorded attempt and is probably about as 'perfect' as I can get in a single-segment run. I'd guess if I got it absolutely perfect it'd probably save about 2-4 minutes total, getting it under 50 minutes. While I never 'cheat', in order to pull off this fast time I did take advantage of several very interesting glitches and shortcuts which I'm sure will amuse those who are familiar with this game. I did originally consider doing this run without using them, but the problem with not using them is that it would have easily taken two or three times longer to complete (a lot of boring time spent building up the character, etc), basically it would have made it pretty boring to watch. So since I just wanted to go for the fastest achievable in-game time (1 minute real-world equals 1 minute game time, meaning no dying or sleeping as it uses game time) using only methods inside the game world, I think this does the job perfectly! And I hope you enjoy it!!
