"THE FIRST TAKE" is a YouTube channel that vividly captures one-take performances.
For the 573rd installment, singer-songwriter Mao Abe makes her debut, exuding a unique presence with her overwhelming vocal ability and lyrics filled with raw realism.
The song being performed today is "Anata no Koibito ni Naritai no Desu" (I Want to Be Your Lover)—a love song that has resonated with people across generations since its release in 2009.
She performs this song—which she declares to be her personal favorite, and which moves the listener with a vocal style that blends crystalline clarity and powerful strength—in a single take, featuring the same musical arrangement used for her 15th-anniversary solo concert held in 2025.
