This week on Rescue Vet's 'War Vet', Dr. Scott returns to Ukraine — this time to Kharkiv, on the frontlines of the war.
The city bears the scars of war, with most civilians having fled the fighting from surrounding areas, many forced to leave behind everything they love — including their pets.
A handful of brave residents remain. Despite danger, food shortages, and the constant threat of shelling, they have continued to care for their villages' abandoned animals. With little to no veterinary support, the threat of starvation and disease is constant, and overpopulation is spiralling out of control.
Joining Scott are local ARK rescuers Ruslan Horbal and Yaryna Vintoniuk. Together races against time to save as many animals as possible from the frontlines. Despite the desperate situation, there are moments of hope, as one lucky family is reunited with their lost dog.
