(8 Aug 2017) The Italian lawyer of Chloe Ayling, the British model who was kidnapped in Milan, spoke to the Associated Press on Tuesday about the circumstances surrounding her ordeal.
Speaking from his office in Milan on Tuesday, Francesco Pesce said that "every doubt that may seem legitimate has already been surpassed by the investigators".
According to a transcript of Chloe Ayling's deposition obtained on Tuesday by the Associated Press, the 20-year-old model initially said she was held at a remote farmhouse for six days without ever leaving.
But on the second day of questioning, she was confronted with witness testimony that said she and the main suspect had bought shoes for her the day before her release.
She told investigators that she couldn't give a "reasonable explanation" about why she had omitted the shoe shopping, but said she considered the alleged kidnapper to be her best chance at freedom.
"She may have needed shoes and they went to buy them. She was under the constant threat of people watching her, of people ready to kill her if she tried anything", Pesce explained.
Ayling was snatched on the 11th of July by a group calling itself Black Death while she was attending a photo shoot at a "recognised studio" in the city centre, according to her agent, Phil Green.
The 20-year-old model is believed to have been drugged and transported in a bag to Borgial, an isolated village near Turin, and held for six days as her captors tried to auction her online, Italian police said.
