WARNING! Major spoilers for the movie if you haven’t seen it!

Holy shit y’all, when’s the last time I edited with a newly released MCU movie/show? It’s been a while hasn’t it? And not for lack of ideas either, but the motivation to work on them never seemed to stick. I didn’t even finish my No Way Home video (that video is still technically in progress, don’t ask). And to be frank I wasn’t necessarily expecting myself to edit with this movie either, but I heard this song floating around and no WAY I wasn’t gonna take advantage of the lyrics that were just clicking with me so hard.
This movie is SO GOOD!!! For the record, I have not been on the MCU hate train like a lot of people. I’ve pretty much enjoyed, if not outright loved, a lot of their post-Endgame projects. That said, there is something to be said about the hype factor that I have been missing. I’ll leave a movie having enjoyed myself, but maybe won’t feel that excitement for what’s gonna come next. And this movie GAVE that to me. Oh the irony of phase 2 being officially 10 years old because I felt like I was right back to being in my tweens again watching a phase 2 movie and leaving the theater jumping up and down, hyped to see the next film. But that nostalgic feeling aside, the emotional core and character writing in this film is truly spectacular. I pretty much agree with all the praise this movie has gotten about its way of discussing mental health and integrating these characters as a team that feels natural for them. And this movie did the most miracle thing which was getting me to like John Walker??? Excuse you, I was supposed to hate him until my dying breath who said you were allowed to do that??? Also yes I am on the love Bob train, Bob is the best 100/10 no notes Bob my beloved can’t wait to see you again in Doomsday.
Part of what made this video really fun was actually getting the chance to highlight the other members of the team, as easy as it would’ve been to just focus on Yelena and Bob. If you guys didn’t know, repeating lyrics are actually a kryptonite of mine. Typically I only ever have like…one idea for a specific lyric but if that lyric repeats and I don’t have other ideas, I basically hit a wall (this is often why projects will take a while, get dropped, or why I cut songs short so I don’t have to do the chorus 3 times). But because I felt I had more freedom to work with multiple characters, I therefore could work with multiple footage. Having an excuse to go back to Civil War and Winter Soldier is always a treat, but I’m also thrilled I finally got to edit with Falcon and Winter Soldier! Specifically That Scene from episode 4, because I was using it for a video a while back that I never finished and so it felt nice to actually utilize it for this video instead! And I also had fun revisiting Ant-Man and the Wasp for this video too. Underrated MCU movie in my opinion! Probably the one thing I don’t love about this video was not having it be in widescreen, but sadly my pre-made transitions don’t work very well with that format so it’s just easier to do full screen. And for this video? No way I wasn’t using those transitions, it’s required for a song like this lol. Enjoy!!!
