"I was first introduced to John Wilkes Booth through 'The Simpsons.' There's a great clip of Bart Simpson shooting (character) Milhouse (Van Houten.) They're doing a school play. Bart says, 'Hasta la vista, Abey' and shoots Milhouse. That's how it was introduced to me. But then afterwards, I've done a lot of research. I had all the letters he had written, from when he was 15 'til he was 26. And there was loads of books about him and, yeah, I really got to dive in deep and, and we got to sort of -- you know, there's so many things written about him, there's so much conjecture because there's so much written about him and so many different versions of him from different people. And what Monica (Beletsky), the writer, Carl (Franlkin) the director, and I got to was choose our version of Booth -- what version we wanted to show. And it turns out he was an (expletive)."
