Spellbinder Origin - This Futuristic Scarecrow-Like Villain Kills His Victims By Their Darkest Fears

DC Comics has a vast gallery when it comes to its supervillains. One thing that is quite common here is to have several villains sharing the same name, either due to the continuities being revamped or villains passing the baton down to other villains. One such character is Spellbinder. This is a moniker that has been possessed by four fictional supervillains in DC.
The first Spellbinder was Delbert Billings. He made his debut in December 1966, in Detective Comics 358. He was created by Sheldon Moldoff and John Broome. This Spellbinder was a painter who used weapons of hypnosis and optical illusions for his crimes. In fact, every Spellbinder uses illusions and hypnosis for their crimes.
