Shriek Origins - This Disgruntled Serial Killer Sound Engineer Almost Drove Old Bruce Wayne Insane!

Shriek, known initially as Walter Shreeve, was a professional audio engineer residing in Neo-Gotham, attempting to finance his sonic research. Shreeve, unable to do so, utilized his extremely superior sound technology to create an armored suit capable of destroying buildings with sonic explosions. Under the alias Shriek, he was quickly recruited to eliminate Batman and was almost successful, but he ruined his ability to hear in the subsequent confrontation. He was then transferred to Blackgate Penitentiary, in which he was able to resume his studies while incarcerated. Shriek has escaped on several occasions since then, each time seeking vengeance on Batman and wreaking devastation on the inhabitants of Neo-Gotham!
Many fans believe Shriek is the most nuanced villain developed in Batman Beyond. Shriek had no reason to dislike Batman, yet he tried to destroy the cowled crusader regardless because of the values at stake.
