Release Date 2016, Centre #Blues. Album Notes Welcome to my "Mixed Bag" of music. Believe me when I tell you it's been a long time coming. When I first started this project I was going to record an all blues album, but what came about is more of an sampling of what you hear when I perform "live", a mixed bag of my roots in blues and folk music. I did not try to make every song perfect, but I did put my heart & soul in each performance. Most of all, I made this album in the hopes that you, the listener, will find some joy in the music I sing. Special thanks to all the musicians who played on this CD for giving their time and talent to this project, especially Eddie The Harp for playing from his soul and always being there for me as my friend and band mate. Thanks also to all the people who have nurtured and encouraged me to make music again after my long self imposed absence from music, Antoine Magliano, George Wesley, Billy Edwards, Sharon O'Connell, Lee Delray, Phyllis Hopkins, Tom Shaw, Paul Moran, Steve Hertzog, Carol & Fred Linde, Bill Coleman, and many others. Also to all the appreciative music fans who listen wherever I perform. And last, but not least to my loving wife Dana Allen Williams who supports me in my music and all other things in our life together. I dedicate this album to you with all my love. JP Williams.
About, Born in New York City and first started performing acoustic Blues & Folk music at college coffee houses and local nightclubs while in college in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He then returned to NYC where he performed for several years at many famous city nightclubs with other aspiring singer/songwriters and musicians. He continued to write songs and perform after moving once again to Pennsylvania, first as a solo act and now with his own JP Williams Blues Band (Winner - Steamtown Music Awards Best Blues Act 2016). He performs regularly and records his original music with an extraordinary group of talented musicians at nightclubs and festivals. His musical style is derived from the classic blues performers he experienced in his youth such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and John Lee Hooker, A love for Delta Blues music, is combined and mixed with many influences of Rock, and Soul music. His latest CD, “Everblue” reflects these influences. It has been featured on several “Best of 2018 / 2019” Blues lists and charts and is enjoying worldwide radio airplay and recognition. The single “Cigar Box Boogie” reached #1 on The Roots Music Report Top Blues Song Chart on May 25th, 2019. MORE ➥www.JP-Williams.com
