Soyeon is gaining attention and praise online for a clip of her being honest as the judge of new Survival show, My Teenage Girl.

CONTEXT: Trainees need to get votes from 75% of the audience, if they clear that benchmark, a door on the stage is opened revealing them to the judges, who then vote for the individual trainee. If a trainee gets a vote from 3/4 judges, they qualify.
Unfortunately The performance of the girls in the video was not upto the mark, the audience voted for them anyway just for the fun of it, while laughing at them, i.e. not seriously. Whereas the trainees just before them, who performed well, did not pass the audience benchmark, because of their visuals. These two things culminated in the judges being disappointed in the audience, and Soyeon voiced that opinion, because she herself had faced discrimination during her survival/trainee days because her visuals did not fit the usual expectations of the public.
