Sean Flynn was the only son of Hollywood icon, actor Errol Flynn, who was most famous for his swashbuckling escapades in films such as The Adventures of Robin Hood in 1938. Sean Flynn initially pursued an acting career, starring in the 1962 sequel The Son of Captain Blood, Spaghetti Westerns and other European films. However, with eight films under his belt but bored with acting, Flynn embarked on a completely new life journey as a freelance photojournalist. In 1966 Flynn arrived in South Vietnam, joining a new generation of courageous camera touting documenters who would risk all to get the best photos. This included entering combat zones. Working first for the French magazine Paris Match, then for Time Life, and contracted by United Press International, Flynn's images were soon published around the world.
