The 1988 comedy film Hairspray starring Ricki Lake, inspired the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name. The musical came to the big screen in 2007, featuring the all-star cast of Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Queen Latifa, and Allison Janney.
