Joy-Con drift has plagued Nintendo Switch owners since the console’s release over three years ago back in March of 2017. However, even after apologizing about the issue internally to investors Nintendo’s official and public stance on the very well-known and widespread hardware defect is it, “isn’t a real a problem.”

At least that’s what Nintendo lawyers are arguing based on what the prosecuting firm fighting the case in arbitration has said. There are probably hundreds of videos on the internet demonstrating Joy-Con drift and another hundred more teaching people how to fix their own Joy-Cons. That’s because even though Nintendo will “fix” your Joy-Con drift issues for free some people have reported experiencing drift more severely even after sending their controllers in to be fixed.

Of course, that is the frustrating part. Nintendo already has a customer support system in place for addressing drift issues yet doesn’t seem to have made any attempt to fix the root of the problem. That means they are still selling consoles that will eventually start to drift - even the Switch Lite which doesn’t have removable Joy-Cons that can be replaced or removed and sent in for repair. Joy-Con drift is easily one of the largest hardware defects in the history of games and you can bet we’re going to talk all about it on today’s episode of Inside Gaming Daily!
