The live service model of Marvel's Avengers—the platform exclusives, the microtransactions, etc—have come to define the game's identity long before its release. After a whole bunch of hours with the full game however, it becomes clear that, beyond severe technical issues, the sometimes charming simplicity of the cinematic brawler at Avengers' core simply wasn't built to support this live service framework—weighing the whole package down in the process.
