With Endgame out, I thought it was time to toast the man at the center of it all, Tony Stark, with this Lagavulin Last Word.

Endgame is here at long last and at least in the trailer, it's not looking so good for my main man Tony Stark. I think we better all raise our glasses to the impervious Iron Man one last time before we lose the chance forever. Tony is a fun character to make a drink for, since he likes to tipple the occasional beverage... We see him drinking a lot of things throughout the series, Champagne, Martinis, Cognac, and Scotch... lots of Scotch. He's got a Ron Swanson level of love for the stuff. In Iron Man 1 when he completes the sale of the Jericho Weapon System he gifts the buyers with a crate of various scotchs, and I THOUGHT I spied a bottle of Lagavulin 16 in there... when it came to editing time I found out I was wrong. Oh well, it still makes a mighty fine Last Word Variation that I suspect Tony would love.
What's the Last Word? Originally it's a Gin based drink combining Gin, Chartreuse, Maraschino and Lime juice in equal parts, shaken and served up. It's a lovely cocktail but it's got endless variations on it. For this reason it's also called The Bartenders Handshake, since every bartender has their own variation on it, and they're all pretty good. A couple of very well known variations are the Final Ward and the Industry Sour. I call THIS one, The Endgame:

• 1 oz. Lagavulin 16
• 1 oz. Maraschino
• 1 oz. Chartreuse
• 1 oz. Lemon Juice
• Shake vigerously
• strain into nick and nora glass
