Relationship Therapist Dr. Jill Peterman has the highest-rated call-in show in radio when her world is shattered following the on-air suicide of a female caller named Alexis. Shaken to her core, Dr. Jill walks away from radio vowing she would never go back. Though still haunted by what happened, after a year off, Jill finally agrees to reboot her show. As she starts to settle back in, a mysterious caller identifying herself as Alexis forces Jill to believe there could be a copy-cat out to get her. Jill begins to uncover a web of secrets and lies, with deadly consequences.

Docteure Jill Peterman, thérapeute de couple dont l'émission radio domine le palmarès, voit son univers bouleversé suite au suicide en ondes d'une interlocutrice appelée Alexis. Secouée au plus profond de son être, Jill quitte son émission jurant de ne jamais y revenir, jusqu'au jour où Stuart, directeur général de la station, la conjure de redémarrer son émission afin de rehausser les cotes d’écoute. Jill accepte d'aider son ami croyant qu’il pourrait s’agir du remède idéal pour calmer l’anxiété dont elle souffre depuis l’incident survenu il y a un an. Alors que Jill se réadapte doucement au rythme de son émission, surgissent de menaçants appels provenant d’une mystérieuse auditrice lui rappelant étrangement le timbre familier de la voix d’Alexis.
