Before GTA came to dominate the open world genre, the Driver series was the leader of the pack. The sequel improved everything about the game and created the modern open world crime game. You can walk around and carjack any car you want. But the game is more focused on the driving. You are always on a mission that has a time limit, giving you the illusion of freedom.
