Here's what many of you have been waiting for, my Uncharted 4 movie. First thing's first, obviously, this is a very long movie. I cut this movie down as much as I possibly could, but ultimately, I needed to preserve the story of the game, without creating plot holes, and so this was the shortest I could make it without sacrificing the integrity of the story. I actually ended up cutting a lot more gameplay out of this movie than practically any of my other movies, but again, not so much that it hurts the story or flow of the action. It's just that this game is so much longer than the other Uncharted games, and Naughty Dog packed it so tightly with story, that it's just impossible to get it any shorter than this.

That being said, I know many of you will want to split this into multiple parts, because 6 hours is obviously a long time. Here are the time codes of the three major acts you can split the movie into:

Act 1 (Chapters 1-9): 0:00:00
Act 2 (Chapters 10-15): 2:13:26
Act 3 (Chapters 16-22): 3:56:03

If you haven't seen my movies before, the idea is to take the story of the game, and turn it into a movie. Not just showing you the cutscenes, but showing the audience everything they need to understand and fully enjoy the story. Optimally, my movies should be enjoyable whether you play video games or not. If you do play the games (which I highly recommend), then watching the movie simply puts that story in an entirely new context, since the story is more condensed, and smaller moments that may have been forgotten about after hours of gameplay are still fresh in your mind.

Part of making these movies is trying to make them look and feel as much like a real hollywood movie as I can. I am very thankful to Naughty Dog for providing a No HUD mode for this game. Normally I work really hard to remove any sort of on screen element that makes it obvious you're watching a game instead of a movie, and Uncharted 4's No HUD mode did most of that work for me, eliminating most of what I would do in post production, which really sped up the process here. I really hope more developers follow their lead on this. The Assassin's Creed games ofter partial HUD removal, but there are always still some elements remaining. Uncharted 4's No HUD mode eliminated 99% of the on screen elements. The only thing remaining were chapter titles and dialog choices. Both of which I removed in editing.

My next movie is going to be Assassin's Creed Liberation. I will probably wait until I've had a chance to play Mirror's Edge Catalt before I start working on that one. It's a fairly short game, even shorter than Uncharted 4 actually, so it probably won't take too long, but it will require some post production work. I'm expecting to produce that movie at 1440p. I wanted to do 4K, but the performance just isn't good enough at that resolution for me to do that. After Liberation, I don't have anything planned until Rise of the Tomb Raider, after that comes out on PS4. Depending on when I finish Liberation, I may consider doing something else between the two if I have enough time. Other ideas I've considered are 1080p versions of some movies I've done in 720p, such as The Last of Us, the Uncharted Trilogy, or the last Tomb Raider game. There was also the idea of doing the WW1 missions from Assassin's Creed Syndicate as well, but I'm not yet sure whether that would work as a movie.

Let me know what you think of this movie, and as always, if you like my movies, make sure to support the developers by buying the games. Uncharted 4 is one of the best games I've ever played, and in my opinion, is good enough to even warrant buying a PS4 if you don't own one yet.
