Saturday's Epsom Derby will mark the 100th anniversary of the race during which Emily Davison threw herself under King George V's horse, a moment that has come to symbolise women's fight to win the right to vote in Britain.

100 years on, academics from across King's examine Emily Davison's role in changing the course of history, and look at where women stand in the world today, drawing on changes in education, employment and Government:

Professor Maleiha Malik, The Dickson Poon School of Law;
Professor Louise Archer, Department of Education & Professional Studies;
Dr Elisabeth Kelan, Department of Management;
Dr Christina Scharff, Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries;
Professor Pat Thane, Institute of Contemporary British History.

King's academics are available for media interviews on Emily Davison and the Suffragette Movement.

For further media information please contact the Public Relations Department at King's on 0207 828 3203 or pr@kcl.ac.uk.
