People watched enjoyed and Liked videos, asking for likes was no big deal - since communities depended on real life interaction and could not and would never go the impersonal and fakey corporate BotSpam route. Simple human interaction to stay relevant, it wasn't a popularity contest, but a genuine sharing community spirit so that good Worthwhile videos could be shared, especially videos that were uploaded 10+ Years ago, when this site was a humble, caring startup, not acquired by Google or Vevo or whatever corp that needed bots to fill up the home trending page. Music is the language of the soul, as they say, and it had to be shared GENUINELY.
