"Carry On" was written by Michael Benghiat, Andy Heyward, and John Miyagi Author, and originally performed by Jennifer Cihi. It was released on the album "Sailor Moon: Songs From The Hit TV Series," and used in the epic Sailor Moon/Queen Beryl battle scene from Season 1 (episode 40: Day of Destiny) of the English dub version of Sailor Moon, the anime television series.

An extra big helping of special thanks to Benjamin Hines, Adam Gubman and Vanessa Elaine (of Creature of Habit) without whom this cover passion project wouldn't have been possible.

The Story: Thank you so much for checking out my cover of one of my favorite Sailor Moon songs! Sailormoon is quite near and dear to my heart: It's the first anime I fell in love with, and was the doorway to a world of fandom, fantasy and magic that I became enamored with throughout my grade-school and teen years. Sailor Moon was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and I was so obsessed my mom used to joke that she was worried I'd run away and join a Sailormoon cult! My first and only boyfriend in high school (who I now call husband!) became my Moonlight Knight when he bought me ALL (and I mean all) the VHS tapes he could find of Sailormoon...every season, both dubs and subs. He did good-years later we're still going strong, and now making Sailor Moon music videos together *swoon!* ...suffice it to say my moonie love is also still going strong! I'm now watching the Sailormoon reboot, Sailor Moon Crystal, and just eating it up-it is SO beautiful, and was part of the inspiration for this single & video project. If you're into anime, beautiful art, fairy tales or fantasy, I definitely want to encourage you to check it out too! I love transforming into fantasy characters, and getting to transform into Sailor Moon (as Princess Serenity) for the very first time ever was yet another dream come true! When I worked with my producer, Adam, on the track, I asked him to create something that was much slower and more haunting and emotional than the original. I wanted to communicate the way Princess Serenity would have been feeling in that final battle scene, when she thought all hope was lost, her loved ones gone, and sensed the darkness closing in. But despite it all, the Moon Princess prevailed, with the most powerful element, love, on her side. I'm dedicating this video to anyone who grew up a moonie like me. Sending out lots of moon prism power & LOVE! xoxo!
